The U.S. and UK have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which will see them work together to develop tests for the most advanced AI models, following through on commitments made at the AI Safety Summit last November.	米国と英国は本日、昨年11月に開催されたAI安全性サミットでのコミットメントを受け、最先端のAIモデルのテスト開発に向けて協力する覚書に調印した。

The U.S. and UK AI Safety Institutes have laid out plans to build a common approach to AI safety testing and to share their capabilities to ensure these risks can be tackled effectively. They intend to perform at least one joint testing exercise on a publicly accessible model. The partnership will take effect immediately and is intended to allow both organizations to work seamlessly with one another. AI continues to develop rapidly, and both governments recognize the need to act now to ensure a shared approach to AI safety which can keep pace with the technology’s emerging risks. Reflecting the importance of ongoing international collaboration, today’s announcement will also see both countries sharing vital information about the capabilities and risks associated with AI models and systems, as well as fundamental technical research on AI safety and security. Last November, at the AI Safety Summit in Bletchley Park hosted by Secretary Donelan and Prime Minister Sunak, I committed to establishing a formal partnership between the U.S. AI Safety Institute and the UK’s Safety Institute. It’s a major milestone for the United States, the United Kingdom, and in the history of AI safety. We need global solutions, as unsafe AI developed in one country can pose risks to the entire world. AI presents complex challenges and risks, and both governments and the private sector need to be part of the solution.
